Responsibilities

Unit  8-7 is located on the 8thfloor of the new John T. O'Conner Tower. It is a highly specialized Intermediate Step Down area, each room specifically equipped with the latest advanced cardiac monitoring equipment. The nursing staff has been specifically trained to provide quality care with an emphasis on critical thinking focusing on adult patients with a wide variety of medical, surgical, neurological and cardiac needs.The unit has the capability to provide continuous cardiac monitoring, continuous pulse oximetry, arterial catheter monitoring, hemodialysis and, on carefully selected patients, mechanical ventilation.

This unit consists of 32 private rooms, 4 of which are allocated for special isolation (negative pressure) and two of which are equipped for bariatric patients.

We are accepting applications from experienced RNs at this time.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current Connecticut RN license and current CPR certification required.  BSN strongly preferred.
Knowledge of current nursing, medical and health trends and practices in rendering of patient care.
Ability to act in a professional capacity and serve as a professional role model.
