Job Description:
Job Summary: Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, the Mental Health Clinical Assistant provides age appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner. The Mental Health Clinical Assistant assists patients with the following tasks related to the activities of daily living. Performs the receptionist and clerical duties in patient care areas. Coordinates patient information and communication for the department and is responsible for maintaining accurate medical records. Reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school education.
Special Skills: Ability to read, write and communicate complicated verbal and written communications. Ability to communicate clearly. Exemplary telephone etiquette necessary. Interpersonal skills to gather and exchange information with patients, visitors, and hospital staff in a courteous and supportive manner. Analytical skills to gather and interpret routine information, maintain semi complex records and organize work.
Licensure: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification. CPR certification within 90 days of hire. Mandt certification within 90 days of hire.
