Nurse Practitioner, Cardiac Surgery ICU

University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a desire to join our premier multidisciplinary team in the Cardiac Surgery ICU. The Acute Care NP performs examination, evaluation, assessment and interpretation of clinical data to provide care to patients requiring a variety of cardiac surgical interventions, including ventricular assist devices, heart-lung transplant, and other cardiac diagnoses. Professional practice is in conjunction with the intensivists and cardiac surgeons.  Our 21-bed Cardiac Surgery ICU serves as a referral center for patients in Maryland and beyond.

The successful candidate will have completed a Nurse Practitioner program at the Masters level, with acute care NP certification. Maryland licensure, and prior NP and/or cardiac surgery critical care clinical experience is also necessary. Newly graduated Nurse Practitioners with solid critical care experience are encouraged to apply. The position offers a full time, rotating shift schedule with weekend and holiday coverage
