Director for Central Va. Center for Simulation and Virtual Learning
Job Summary:
The Director of the Central Virginia Center for Simulation and Virtual Learning is responsible for providing leadership in the introduction and the use of simulation technologies for collaborative nursing and interdisciplinary education programs.
- Establish and maintain state-of-the-art simulation environments at the Central Virginia Center for Simulation and Virtual Learning to support the mission and vision of Centra
- Operational and management responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with simulation specialists, faculty, staff, and students to meet and evaluate identified educational outcomes
- Collaborative relationship with local health care organizations that promote professional development of health care providers
- Participates in public relations and community outreach efforts to promote the image of Central Va. Center for Simulation and Virtual Learning and develops new markets/secures resources and funding as needed
- Accountable to the Director of Professional Development and Clinical Practice and maintains a collaborative relationship with regional nursing and inter-professional health education leaders
EDUCATION
Required:
Master’s degree with a bachelors or master’s degree in a health related field
Preferred:
Masters in Nursing
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Required:
3-5 years of education and/or simulation experience
Strong program development skills
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
Information technology skills
Knowledge and experience with clinical simulation technologies
Ability to coordinate inter-professional healthcare teams
Preferred:
3-5 years of experience in simulation
Operations management experience
Budget preparation and budget oversight skills
Public relations and fundraising abilities
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
RN must hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse
All healthcare professional candidates must hold an appropriate license for specialty in Virginia.
Hold BLS, ACLS, and or other advanced life support training (i.e. PALS, TNCC) instructor status
