A prestigious healthcare provider is seeking a Registered Nurse to work as a Research Nurse in the Oncology Patient Care Unit. As the Research Nurse, you will coordinate and implement research projects as well as adhere to guidelines to assure research projects are carried out as approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Job Description

As the Oncology Research Nurse, you will:

  • Participate in discussions regarding feasibility of protocol implementation based on knowledge of institutional capabilities and limitations, therapy, or population of interest
  • Ensure initial and ongoing consent process is performed and documented in compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug Admin­istration (FDA), Good Clinical Practice, institutional policies, sponsor requirements, Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other applicable regulations, guidelines and policies
  • Participate in the education of research subjects, families and health team members regarding study and significant new information arising during the conduct of the trial
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigator (PI) to ascertain study patient eligibility for a clinical trial, including documenta­tion of criteria specified in the protocol. Identifies and develops processes to overcome recruitment barriers
  • Administer, score and evaluate assessments as assigned and as related to the study protocol as well as collect data confer with PI and forward results to internal and/or external sponsors
  • Interface with the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) and IRB to ensure all documents are processed and maintained per applicable regula­tions
  • Ensure investigational agent availability and accountability
Required Skills
  • 3-5 years of experiences an RN
  • 1 year of research experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
Desired Skills
  • Previous oncology experience
