The qualified nursing professional will be responsible for collaborating with the clinical supervisors, unit leaders, care managers, member services, internal and external resources and members to build a system of care that supports the member’s full participation in community life.

Job Description

The Nurse Educator will be responsible for:

  • Planning, developing, and implementing tools to measure nursing competency
  • Monthly reporting on performance measures
  • Reporting findings of staff performance to Clinical Supervisors and assisting them in creating a plan to meet individual training needs and improve performance
  • Providing guidance, coaching and supervision to nursing staff
  • Planning and developing trainings based on needs of nursing staff
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating/improving the orientation, cross training and education/competency processes/systems for nursing staff
  • Continuous quality improvement of ICS nursing department.
  • Making recommendations for improving performance and managing utilization
  • Ensuring compliance and documentation of member records based on ICS standards by routinely conducting internal audits
  • Preparing and coordinating data and compliance reports
  • Assisting with data reconciliation and clean-up
  • Preparing and coordinating data and compliance reports
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of internal support resources (PCA Services, Transportation, Wound Care, Behavioral Health, Rehab and Specialty Disease Management Units) and external resources to meet member needs
  • Participating in projects, meetings, committees and improvement activities
Required Skills
  • 5+ years community health or home care or MLTC
  • 2+ years management/leadership roles with responsibility for direct supervision of staff
  • RN
  • BSN
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
