The University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our busy and innovative team of Surgical Oncologists in caring for patients with cancer, including gastrointestinal malignancies, melanoma and sarcoma.  We seek a motivated, personable individual to participate in the full spectrum of care of patients including pre-operative evaluation and care planning, inpatient care and discharge planning, as well as post-operative outpatient care. Development of patient and family relationships is an important component of the treatment plan in this area. Clinical and educational collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is expected. Participation in resident education as well as generation of new knowledge through support of clinical research is also a part of this role. Continuing education in the subspecialty is encouraged and supported.

The successful candidate will have completed an accredited NP program at the Masters level, with either adult or acute care NP certification. Maryland licensure, or eligibility is also required. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, and have a minimum of two (2) years experience in an acute surgical setting.
