The primary function and responsibility of the Business Manager - Pulmonary and Wound Care is to provide management and leadership to both clinical and clerical staff of the Respiratory Therapy, Wound Care, Hyperbaric Therapy and Pulmonary Function Testing departments.  Under the direction of the Director of Operations for the Department of Medicine, the Business Manager - Pulmonary and Wound Care: 

  • Is accountable for operational management for all diagnostic and therapeutic services provided by Respiratory Therapy, Wound Care/Hyperbaric and Pulmonary Function Testing departments
  • Provides organization, scheduling, overall supervision and ongoing evaluation of all patient care services provided in each department
  • Assists Administrative Director and Medical Directors in developing and implementing long and short range goals and objectives for each department
  • Is accountable for personnel management, program and staff development, establishing and monitoring standards of care, and ensuring clinical competencies in respective areas. 
  • Is responsible for fiscal budget needs and long-term planning of capital needs 
  • Assures equipment and procedures are in keeping with professional standards 
  • Monitors activities and operations of each department to ensure they are meeting business, financial, regulatory and clinical objectives

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related field required
  • State of Connecticut Dept. of Public Health License for an RCP and Basic Life Support certification required
  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience and at least five (5) years management experience 
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
  • Ability to plan and manage the utilization of resources
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and solid decision making skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships
