Clinical Documentation Specialist – Utilization Review/Case Management
In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and success of our Clinical Documentation Improvement Program. This involves educating patient care team members on clinical documentation practices and guidelines, conducting concurrent reviews and evaluations of medical records, assisting with the coding and processing of inpatient claims, helping provide comprehensive medical record documentation, and regularly assessing documentation practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
To qualify, you must have current California RN licensure; at least 3 years of clinical hospital experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience in case or utilization management or clinical documentation review); and recent experience in care management, quality utilization or coding. You also must have working knowledge of all applicable regulations regarding utilization review, discharge planning and clinical documentation. Strong leadership/supervisory and training skills are crucial to success.
