| | Job Description: | The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is a 13 bed unit that is a quaternary care referral center for 4 states that cares for cardiac patients from newborns up to young adults. The CICU patients have complex congenital defects requiring surgery, cardiology and/or cardiac transplant care. Specialized care provided in the CICU includes ECMO/ECLS, Berlin Heart, continuous renal replacement therapy, nitric oxide, ventricular assist devices, open chest procedures and temporary pacemakers. The CICU has an all RN staff that work closely with respiratory therapists, nutritionists, social workers, pharmacists and physicians to care for these critically ill children. The physical environment is made of mostly single rooms with a parent space (including a place to sleep in the room) that allows families to be present and partner in the care of their child. Exceptional staffing ratios! The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 13 bed unit that is aquaternary care referral center for 4 states that cares for patients from 45 weeks corrected gestational ageup to young adults. The PICU patients have a number of interesting conditions including septic shock, solid organ transplant (liver, intestine, and kidney), advanced bone marrow transplant, neurosurgery and other pediatric surgeries. Specialized care provided in the PICU includes ECMO/ECLS (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation/Extracorporeal Life support), continuous renal replacement therapy, liver dialysis, nitric oxide and ICP monitoring. The PICUisan all RN staff whowork closely with respiratory therapists, nutritionists, social workers, pharmacists and physicians to care for these critically ill children. The physical environment is made of mostly single rooms with a parent space (including a place to sleep in the room) that allows families to be present and partner in the care of their child. Exceptional staffing ratios.Relocation assistance is available for experienced PICU RNs. | | Requirements: | Required: - Current RN experience working in a PICU, CICU or NICU settingis required.This position will require the RN to float between the PICU and CICU.
- CurrentWashington StateRN License.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be required upon hire or within the orientation phase.
- Nurses may be asked to work overtime occasionally
Preferred:- Current CICU experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- CCRN specialty certification
