This position is for the Stoller Pavillion in the GreeneBaum Cancer Center.
Serves as an effective Primary Coordinating Nurse; collaborates and coordinates with physicians and all disciplines involved in the patient's care to assure timely progress toward the best clinical outcome in the most cost effective manner.
Provides extensive patient education regarding disease process, treatment plan, and symptom management. Expertise in specialty area enables nurse coordinator to triage and assess patients in order to provide optimum level of care.
Assists patients and families through disease process and along cancer diagnosis continuum.
Basic knowledge of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and their associate side effects is required. A minimum of two years professional nursing experience required, ambulatory/outpatient experience preferred. ONS certification or eligibility for certification is required. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to compact state requirements outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
