The Registered Nurse - Informatics is a Registered Nurse who provides informatics coverage for the medical center clinical end users. Provides leadership for assessing, planning, designing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating clinical information systems. Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer application and to ensure the clinical information systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.
Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Maryland. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland. Successful completion of a refresher course within past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years. Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a licensed RN which included direct use and knowledge of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Membership in informatics professional association(s) preferred. Microsoft office skills- Word, Excel and PowerPoint, required.
