The Medication Security Nurse is responsible for overseeing the Medication Diversion Detection and Surveillance Program for the Department of Pharmacy. The ideal candidate for this role will have a eye for detail, like to work with data, be able to review medication documentation as possess the ability to interact with various levels of staff in a collegial multi-disciplinary way.
1. Current license in the state of Maryland for the practice of Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Health Care, Business Administration or related discipline is preferred. 2. Minimum of five years progressively responsible professional experience in pharmacy, nursing or a health care related field or equivalent is required. Work experience, which involves the handling and dispensing of medications, is required. 3. Knowledge of health care management, administrative and operational principles and practices, including The Joint Commission, regulations and laws pertaining to procurement and dispensing of drugs/narcotics. Demonstrated knowledge of organizational problem solving and analytical skills are required to evaluate policies and procedures related to the responsibilities of this position. 4. Proficient computer skills for developing needed analysis tools and reports. 5. A demonstrated ability to coordinate the work efforts of a diverse group of interests to meet a given objective. 6. Effective business writing and communication skills are necessary.
