Team Leader RN- 3 Main Neuro/Stroke - FT 7A-7P

As a member of the Adventist Healthcare System, our mission is to extend the Healing Ministry of Christ and to provide extraordinary compassionate care to each patient every day.  Florida Hospital Tampa, located across from the University of South Florida, is a 475-bed hospital that provides strategic medical care through the development of specialized Centers of Excellence that focus resources on major disease areas, including cardiovascular care, women's services, cancer treatment, pediatrics, orthopaedics and diabetes management. In addition, we offer several specialized service units, including intensive care, pediatric/neonatal intensive care, rehabilitation, occupational health, continuing care and general surgery as well as a 24-hour emergency department with dedicated treatment facilities for chest pain, pediatrics and minor care. 

Florida Hospital Tampa is a Comprehensive Stroke Center. This 38-bed unit is our dedicated Stroke unit and specializes in the care of complex Medical/Surgical Neurological patients.  4 of our 38 beds are Long Term EEG monitored beds while 8 beds are dedicated to caring for Neurological Progressive Care patients. Nurse to patient ratio on this unit is 1:4-5.

 

The Team Leader supervises, coordinates and performs patient care delivery on assigned nursing unit and meets Standards of Nursing Care for assigned shift. Is responsible for coordinating and planning assigned shift activities to ensure standards of patient care are met. Acts as a clinical resource and role model. Participates in conducting performance appraisals for personnel on assigned shift.

1.     Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred  

2.     Current license of Registered Nurse in Florida or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement.

3.     Valid BCLS required

4.     ACLS, NIH Stroke, and Telemetry certifications preferred or completion within 90 days of hire.

5.     3-5 years Neuro RN experience strongly preferred

6.     CNRN certification preferred
