I. Position Summary: The Orthopedic Coordinator demonstrates skills as a resource person and liaison between the specialty team orthopedic surgeons, and vendors by providing communication regarding future cases. The orthopedic coordinator ensures that orthopedic procedures are thoroughly prepared prior to surgery by the specialty team and other surgery staff and ensures verification of accurate preference cards. The Coordinator will provide input on budgets for capital and expense instruments. The Coordinator may also function in other nursing duties within the department as needed. The Orthopedic Coordinator performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at RMC. The Orthopedic Coordinator displays positive support for the values and mission of RMC.
II. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Colorado Registered Nurse licensure, current BLS certification.
B. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing- BSN.
C. Experience: Two years experience in current or related area of practice.
D. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates good organizational skills. Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the standards of nursing practice at Rose Medical Center. Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. Displays the ability to teach in formal and informal setting. Has a strong clinical and knowledge base in orthopedic nursing.
