Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides nursing care to patients and also performs non-patient care duties as assigned. Where appropriate, must be able to assess treatment and care for specific patient population. Should possess the ability to understand and react effectively to their unique needs. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementing, evaluating and documentation of assigned patients. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. As a professional, assumes the role of educators for the development of new staff and assistant personnel. She/He anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides such services while maintaining as aseptic and safe environment. The professional nurse functions according to the professional nursing law, according to professional standards and according to their level of knowledge and experience.
Recruitment Requirements:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
Registered Nurse licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Minimum of 2 years Operating Room experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery environment.
Must be knowledgeable of patient’s rights, the nursing process and it’s applications, and be able to communicate and work effectively with people.
BLS certificate required and CNOR preferred
