Description
Facility Description:
The Women’s Center at Florida Hospital Tampa is a freestanding pavilion dedicated to caring for women throughout all stages of their life.  Our comfortable and nurturing atmosphere combined with our expert physicians and highly skilled nursing team enables us to provide comprehensive neonatal, obstetrical, gynecological and urological services.  We are the first women’s facility in Tampa Bay to be named a Center of Excellence by the American Institute of Minimally invasive Surgery (AIMIS).
Through our surgical advances, including the use of the da Vinci? Surgical System, our patients benefit from faster recovery times with less pain and blood loss, fewer complications and optimal clinical outcomes.

Job Summary:
The Women’s Center at Florida Hospital Tampa features a Level III NICU.  We are the only designated Level III NICU in the Florida Hospital - Tampa Bay Division. It is a 15 bed (5 Level III, 10 Level II) unit providing  twenty-four hour inpatient services delivering developmentally supportive, family-centered care while providing a safe and caring environment to all acuity levels of ill neonates. Our patients receive their medical care from 24 hour in-house Board Certified Neonatologists. Nursing care is provided by highly skilled, specially trained and certified nurses who are prepared to meet the needs of newborns with various disorders, anomalies, disease processes and syndromes.  Family involvement is important; they are included in planning of care and encouraged to participate in caring for their child during their NICU stay.  Discharge planning rounds are conducted weekly, led by a Case Manager dedicated to the Women’s Center and Pediatrics/PICU.  A multidisciplinary approach is implemented for care management to include physicians, nurses, respiratory therapy, the nurse practitioner, Healthy Start/Healthy Families, Certified lactation specialist, and USF Early Steps.  NICU infants who meet the criteria are also followed by a Pediatric Ophthalmologist who specializes in eye diseases of the neonate.  A Nurse Practitioner is dedicated to this unit and is available to staff and families for consultation and education.  Interfacility transport, staffed by specially trained neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists are available 24/7 for any needed interfacility ground transports to or from FHT.

As a leader in meeting the health care needs of the community, Florida Hospital Tampa is committed to providing a workplace that respects the diversity and contribution that our employees bring to our organization. Our mission depends not only on our commitment to living our values but on our efforts to excel in both the delivery of quality health care and in providing compassionate care to the patients we serve.
