The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for the development and organization of the services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to traumatically injured children, including education on injury prevention to patients, families, staff, and the community. Injury Prevention works to reduce the burden of injury and improve trauma care within the region through injury prevention and public education programs, continuing education for pre-hospital providers and other healthcare professionals. The TPM, in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director, is responsible for monitoring the quality and effectiveness of care of the trauma patient. The TPM directs the collection of data and assures the accuracy of the data collected. The TPM assures compliance with the criteria for Trauma Center verification as established by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ASCOT).

Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university required.
Master’s degree in healthcare or business preferred.
Minimum of 5 years in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care experience required.
Experience coordinating a Trauma program preferred.
Society of Trauma Nurses TOPIC course preferred.
AAAM scoring class preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
Basic Life Support Friends and Family certificate of Participation.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course Provider, Instructor preferred.
Trauma Nursing Core Course Provider, Instructor preferred.
Certification in Emergency Nursing or Pediatric Emergency Nursing preferred.
