Job Title: Medication Manager/RN

Reports To: Program Coordinator/Executive Director

Department: Clinical

Location: Fire Mountain Residential Treatment Center – Estes Park, CO

Salary Range: $40,000-70,000 *Also the option for free housing

Join our expanding team at Fire Mountain Residential Treatment Center in gorgeous Estes Park, Colorado. Fire Mountain sits on 35 acres just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. With gorgeous landscapes and access to outdoor adventures; our program works with adolescents, ages 12-17 who struggle with addiction and mental health issues. We are a 4-6 month program and we work extensively with youth and their parents to help them learn coping skills, alter negative thinking patterns and develop healthy communication. Full-Time or Part-Time: Full time with benefits

Number of Hours Expected to Work: 32 - 40 hours (.8-1.0 FTE)

Description of Job Qualifications, Required Skills and Duties:

The ideal candidate for this position is an individual who loves to work with adolescents, enjoys the combination of working within a team, as well as autonomous work, sees the benefits of a holistic approach to healing, likes developing and improving systems, has excellent time management/leadership skills and exudes an attitude of positivity.

Qualifications and Education

Required

• RN license or ability to reinstate/transfer license within 6 months

Preferred

• BSN degree

• Experience with utilization review and insurance companies

• Prior mental health experience

• Experience working with youth and families

 

Description of Job Qualifications, Required Skills, and Duties:

• Administers medications according to State, JCAHO and Health Dept regulations

• Triage all youth medical issues

• Oversees the Medication Room and maintains weekly Clinic Hours

• Assists with onboarding employees to medical policies and procedures

• Writes needed medical policies and protocols

• Audits the electronic MAR, Narc counts, and employee QMAP administration

• Administers First Aid, UA’s, Vitals and blood draws as needed

• Assists youth with food logs or dietary restrictions as needed

• Assists the Psychiatrist with weekly sessions and provides follow up to parents regarding medication changes, titrations, and/or additions

• Provides medical case management for each youth

• Educates employees on all medical regulations, youth medication changes, potential side effects and medical competencies

• Provides an annual Bloodborne Pathogen Training

• Manages all youth doctor visits, prescriptions, and lab visits

• Maintains documentation for youth admissions, concurrent reviews and treatment plan updates

• Packs medications for youth passes and discharges

• Organizes and updates paper and electronic charts

• Establishes systematic and standardized procedures; and maintains cleanliness and order in the medication room

• Participates in monthly Department Manager meetings and leadership retreats

• Assists in creating and managing the Medical Department Annual Budget

• Assists with Genomind youth assessments

• Presents information to the parents at quarterly Parent Inservices

• Attends the daily Employee Huddle and all Clinical staff meetings
