Unit Description: -Total # of beds in the unit: 33. Average daily census is: 19. Nurse to patient ratios 1:1-1:2 and 1:3 for all shifts. -No Ancillary Staff. Type of Patients: Neonates. care for all infants, float to PICU -Specific Unit Requirements: attended labor delivery birth, knowledgeable in NRP, able to care for surgical patients, GI, Cardiac, Neuro, GU, knowledgeable in medication administration, computer skills a must. Patient Care Delivery System: Team. Special Unit Procedures: PDA. Meds and drips administered: PGE, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Fentanyl, Amiodarone. Documentation System: Computerized. Supplemental Staff required to float when necessary. Scrubs can be any color, RN provides their own scrubs. FLOATING--- floats to PICU as needed.Required Qualifications1. PALS (can obtain any time prior to start date, will need for floating)2. NRP, BLS3. 2 years experience in Level III NICU (will "Screen an RN with less than this if has Prior Travel experience in Level III or IV NICU)4. Vent management5.
