The Arc Montgomery County has an exciting and challenging position for a Head Nurse who will be responsible for the health related administrative and supervisory work in the coordination of medical care and health for people supported. Work involves the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of program policies and procedures as directed by regulatory/licensing bodies, as well as by professional practice standards. The Head Nurse acts as a resource for the agency on health-related issues and regulations, and advocates for quality health care for people supported. The Head Nurse will be responsible for supervising and supporting the agency’s Nurses, consulting Nurses and Medical Appointment Technicians. The Head Nurse will provide delegation, training and nursing services as needed.
Master’s degree in Nursing plus 7 years of relevant professional, administrative or supervisory experience or Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing plus 9 years of relevant professional, administrative or supervisory experience. Four years of experience must be at a supervisory level.
Must be able to respond to questions and/or emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Must have the ability to travel independently to all agency sites and/or homes of individuals the agency supports.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word. Must demonstrate technology proficiency to include monitoring data and online training needs. Must be able to effectively communicate in written and spoken English. Must demonstrate the ability to independently solve problems and create efficient systems.
