Posted job title: WI - RN Critical Care Transport Pediatric/Neonatal - MUST HAVE GROUND OR AIR EXPERIENCE . *****Must have ground or air transport experience *****We are seeking a Traveler Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team:When a seriously ill baby or child requires transportation to more specialized care, our critical care transport team and Children's Hospital Emergency Transport Ambulance (CHETA) are ready to go.The registered nurses, clinical nurse specialists and respiratory therapists who staff CHETA are specially trained in emergency medical care. With their skills and CHETA's life-sustaining equipment, we can transport children ranging from neonates to teenagers.Every CHETA transport is supervised by a UW Health attending physician who is an expert in transport medicine and pediatric critical care.CHETA's hands-free communication system interfaces with the medical equipment on board to transfer critical patient information in real time to specialists preparing for the patient's arrival.There may be some air transports. Experience Requirements:Must have ground transport experience. Air experience is a plus.Three (3) years of neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, and/or emergency department experience.Pediatric Critical Care Transport experience including neonatesMinimum Requirements:Traveler must have permanent address outside 75 mile radius of MadisonTraveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address stateTraveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.Traveler must have one successful assignment as travel RN (13 weeks)Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center.NRP Certification, BLS, PALS (American Heart Association Only)Need 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only)PedsTelemetry Competency: (Please note the Inpatient/Outpatient OR RN s do not complete telemetry). All agency travelers must demonstrate competency in interpretation of cardiac rhythms before your orientation begins. Previous completion of PALS, ACLS, etc. is not acceptable as a demonstration of this competency. Instead, you will be expected to satisfactorily complete a 20 question test which consists of multiple choice questions and write-in rhythm identification. You must pass with an overall score of 80% and correctly identify 100% of the 4 life-threatening rhythms for your patient population (adult or peds). If there are any questions, please refer to earlier communication from UWHC to your agency. Schedule: 36 hrs/week, Day/Night, 8/12 hour shifts and weekend rotation.**Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract. Billing string = Medefis .
