What we need:

Were currently seeking full-time experienced
(18 Months+) Registered Nurses to join our team at Baylor Scott & White
Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas; The #1 one city in the nation for Nursing
opportunities and advancement! Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is
a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center
between Dallas and Austin.

Why STC-3? (Renal/Transplant)

Patients accepted on STC-3 are
complex with multiple cognitive, emotional and physical needs as they attempt
to live with new and acute conditions such as surgery or pneumonia, newly
diagnosed or longstanding chronic conditions such as CHF, End Stage Renal
Disease with or without dialysis, CF, pulmonary hypertensions and radioactive
implant patients among others. All
Kidney, Pancreas transplants as well as urological surgery patients reside on
this floor
.

Skills unique to STC-3:

Special Skills include peritoneal
dialysis (done bedside), Epidural and PCA pain management. CBI, PICC lines,
IVADS, Hemodialysis catheter access, Chest Tubes, Enteral Feeding Tubes,
Nasogastric Tubes, PegTube management, Davols, Pleurex catheter access and
maintenance, complicated urinary catheter insertions, suprapubic catheter
exchanges and maintenance, nephrostomy and urostomy care and maintenance, and wound
vacs. STC-3 has the only lead lined rooms in the facility.

  • ALL post-operative Abdominal Transplant Patients are sent
    to STC 3 and can require complex
    monitoring and drips

  • Care for radiation patients

    surg nurses that access fistulas and vas caths

    that perform Peritoneal Dialysis
  • Only med
    surg unit that take pulmonary hypertension patients and complex drips
  • Physician Nurse Rounds
  • Annual Transplant Education
  • Annual Peritoneal Dialysis Training

Requirements of
the Ideal Candidate:

  • Graduate
    of RN School of Nursing
  • ADN
    required; BSN preferred
  • Must
    be licensed to practice professional nursing by the Board of Nurse Examiners
    for the State of Texas
  • Minimum
    18 Months of RN experience, Acute Care
    or Hospital setting preferred
  • Basic
    Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • Functions
    competently and effectively under pressure and emergency situations

Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

RN license required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Note: If you have less than 6 months of experience, we recommend that you apply to our nursing internship program. Internships are available for new graduates and experienced nurses in a variety of specialties. New classes begin in January, June, and September.
