Adult ID is a busy and growing practice. The staff supports 7 physicians who provide care to patients with a wide range of conditions (for example, patients with infections post-surgery or post hospitalization) and for patients needing travel medicine services.

In addition to supporting direct patient care during physician office hours, Medical Assistants and RNs provide phone care coordination and care management for patients across the continuum of care. This practice offers a close team environment where youll get too know your patients, and a Monday-Friday schedule.

This is a working supervisor position with 80% of the time providing direct patient care and 20% of the time supervising two RN staff members.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supervising MA, RN, PSR staff within the practice.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: BSN preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure to practice in Maine. Current BLS certification.

3. Experience: Five years of experience in nursing. Supervisory experience preferred.

4. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and standards, medical procedures, tests, and clinical/clerical skills necessary to perform all functions and assist physicians. Knowledge of pharmacology is desirable.

5. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and other health care providers

6. Analytical ability sufficient to identify patients at risk and initiate appropriate action.

7. Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families, and to plan strategies for managing these situations when they arise.

8. Analytical ability required gathering and interpreting information necessary to resolve problems in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.

9. Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite applications such as Word and Excel.

10. Strong communication and organizational skills

11. Proven experience in a customer service environment.

12. Skills in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising

13. Ability to maintain a professional manner even under stressful situations
