Nurse Practitioners Opportunities Available!
The James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center is seeking 1 full time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a vacancy in the Mental Health Patient Care Center. The vacancy is located in the Outpatient Mental Health Center.
Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Independent Practitioners in the VA, are a part of an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals that diagnose and treat a patient’s unique responses to diagnosed health problems, perform health assessments to identify new symptoms of possibly undiagnosed conditions or complications, teach and counsel patients about maintenance of health and prevention of illness or complications and implement treatment strategies with veterans diagnosed with PTSD, and/or Homeless, formerly homeless and at risk Veterans.
To qualify, you must be licensed or otherwise recognized as a Nurse Practitioner in a state, possess a master’s degree from a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by NLNAC, or CCNE and maintain full and current certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Association or other nationally recognized certifying body. U.S. Citizenship and English Language proficiency required. Experience caring for psychiatric populations is required.
