What You Will Do

This specific opening is for a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department. Our ED has several areas. All our RNs are cross-trained!
  • Adult: 21-beds providing quality nursing care to patients in critical conditions using state-of-the-art technology. Nurses collaborate with multiple disciplines, while maintaining autonomy, to foster the best patient outcomes
  • Pediatric: 9-bed area that provides care centered around the age-specific needs of the pediatric patient and their family
  • Chest Pain: 7-bed area nurses are trained to recognize and respond to the need of the cardiac patient. The collaboration with Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Critical Care keeps the patient as the center of our focus
  • Senior: 7-bed area where nurses are trained to meet the unique care needs of patients over the age of 65
  • Rapid Medical Evaluation: Nurses provide care to our low acuity patients requiring emergency services

This position is full time, 36 hours a week (three 12-hour shifts), on our day shift (7A-7:30P). The position is benefit eligible so comes with Ascensions comprehensive programs that protect your health, income and survivors, as well as secure your retirement and enrich your spirit.

Limited time only! Currently for hires in our full-time ED RN positions that meet eligibility requirements we are offering a $10,000 sign on bonus! To be considered eligible for this program you must have a minimum of two years of work experience as an RN in an Emergency Department setting. Those who have been employed by St. Agnes Hospital or Ascension within the last 12 months are not eligible. The bonus does come with a two-year work commitment. Payouts of the bonus if accepted are at 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and 24 months of employment.

What You Will Need
  • Diploma from an accredited school / college of nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) credentialed from the Maryland Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association obtained within 2 months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Prior / recent work experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting and / or telemetry experience preferred.
  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credentialed from the American Heart Association preferred.
