We are seeking a part-time Evening shift RN and a part-time Night shift Resource Nurse (RN required) in our nursing home. Consistent assignments, caring for the same residents all the time is a goal in our approach to care. Our Director of Nursing is progressive and has an engaging leadership style making input from the staff expected. We make decisions using learning circles every day. What you have:
  • Minimum 2 years of long-term care experience as a Nurse
  • Exemplary communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations
  • The desire to develop relationships and credibility with elders and colleagues
  • Experience and comfort level with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Organization and time management skills

What you'll do:

Coordinate care with night nurses and CNAs and be responsible for setting resident-directed quality care and quality-of-life standards in the community as well as evaluating and implementing person-directed policies and procedures. Provides leadership to night shift care partners and general nursing care to elders in nursing home facility by performing the following duties.

  • Acts as a night staffing resource
  • Provides clinical supervision for night shift staff and problem solves complex clinical issues
  • Supervises Acute Temporary Care Plan (ATCP) updating and use to verify the system is used at night
  • Provides information to nursing leadership as needed to anticipate and solve night shift issues
  • Addresses unmet resident psychosocial needs; promotes a relaxed, quiet environment to encourage sleep
  • With ADONs and neighborhood staff, verifies routine and as-needed rounds are completed to include toileting, incontinence care, re-positioning, fluids, fall prevention, etc.
  • Completes random rounds with CNAs/nurses to evaluate the details of care provided
  • Completes and/or supervises effective 24-hour chart check, reviews new order reports, and coordinates end of month duties
  • Completes AOD reviews of new elders (or re-admissions) from the past 24 hours
  • Organizes huddles with direct care staff to understand incidents and immediate prevention interventions for the Acute Temporary Care Plan
  • Performs nursing assessments to identify critical nursing issues that must be addressed during the night
  • Current Colorado Nursing License in good standing
  • Experience with a resident-directed care approach is preferred
  • Experience with AOD or other EMR systems is helpful
  • Thorough background check
