Covenant Shores has an opening for a full-time RN to serve as our Residential Community Nurse. We are looking for a resourceful, entrepreneurial individual with exceptional relational skills and tons of empathy. This important position maintains and monitors the general physical and emotional welfare of our 260+ Residential Living residents through consultation, preventive screening, education and coordination with community resources. This position monitors changes and developments in residents' functional status, implements our LifeConnect® Program and leads the Transition Team.

This is a full-time M-F position with a full benefits package and a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Occasional overtime may be required.

In this role you will:
  • Coordinate the functions of the Residential Clinic; consult with residents on health and medication issues.
  • Lead weekly interdisciplinary Transition Team meetings to evaluate residents' functional status and suitability for higher levels of care.
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff and agencies to respond to residents' calls for aid.
  • Monitor, evaluate and follow up on resident accident/injury reports.
  • Complete LifeConnect® profiles and plans on current and new residents; inform LifeConnect® team of changes in residents' functional status.
  • Participate in prospective resident review process and new resident orientation.
  • Update profile information for residents in electronic health records.
  • Coordinate and implement resident health education programs.
  • Provide information to family members on current changes in condition and resources available in the community.

For this role you need:
  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
  • Current Washington State RN license.
  • 8 years of nursing experience, including 3-5 years involving senior/geriatric assessment and intervention.
  • Genuine compassion for senior adults.
  • Ability to accurately assess problems, and plan and evaluate solutions for resident needs.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication and comprehension skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, tact and courtesy; Demonstrated ability to maintain good professional relationships with physicians and staff and to relate well to residents and families.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to learn and use software program, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Vision, RiskWatch®, LifeConnect ®, Omniview.

Other requirements:
  • Must pass pre-hire background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to lift weights of up to 25 pounds.
