Senior Infection Preventionist
Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey required. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required (MSN preferred). Five (5) years of nursing or healthcare experience required, including four (4) years in infection control with demonstrated proficiency in surveillance techniques for an acute care facility. Experience in infection control program development a plus. Excellent writing and communications skills required. Current certification in Infection Control/Prevention required.
Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the Senior Infection Preventionist is to assume a lead role in the Infection Prevention and Control Department and to assist the Director to plan and implement the operations of the program. This position assists the Director with all infection prevention activities, including planning the overall development of the Infection control Program, the design and coordination of educational programs, the training of personnel, the coordination of departmental research projects, the coordination of outbreak investigations. The position requires an advanced knowledge of epidemiology, infectious diseases, and the principles and practice of infection control and prevention in the hospital. The Senior Infection Preventionist will cover for the Director in his/her absence.
