What You Will Do:

University of Maryland Medical Center is currently seeking full-time Community Health Workers for our Surgery Clinic (transitional Surgery)

General Summary

Under direct supervision, visits individuals and families in their homes, in shelters or other similar places to provide basic community outreach services and to assist with social interventions necessary in coping with a new diagnosis.




What You Need to Be Successful:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Two years work experience providing outreach services. Experience should include writing reports and maintaining records
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact.
  • May be required to use personal automobile while conducting official business. Must possess a valid Maryland Non-Commercial Class C or Commercial Class B Driver’s license (CDL) if required to drive.
