What You Will Do:

University of MD Medical Center General PACU and Trauma PACU seeking RNs to provide high-acuity nursing. We have Rotating, Evenings and Night Shifts available.

The General PACU is providing a smooth, quick and comfortable recovery to all of our patients by providing high-quality nursing care based on ASPAN standards. The General PACU is a 27-bed unit located on the second floor in the Weinberg building and is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The groups are sub-divided into three areas: the main PACU, the Satellite PACU and the Pre-op Holding Area. Service is extended primarily to adults but also includes pediatric and adolescent patients for post-anesthesia care and recovery.

The Shock Trauma Post-Anesthesia Care Unit is a 12-bed unit proving care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to patients of varying levels of acuity. Shock Trauma Post-Anesthesia Care Unit has the primary focus of providing post-anesthesia care for patients having elective, urgent, or new surgery in the Shock Trauma Center Operating Rooms. This area also serves the Shock Trauma Center in providing overflow and procedural space in the event of maximum inpatient capacity as the staff can provide care to patients in need of varying levels of acuity.

What You Need to Be Successful:
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice under a compact license.
  • BSN preferred (Associates Nurses with 1+ years of experience);
  • At least one - two years preferred, experience as an ICU or E.D. nurse in an inpatient facility, outpatient surgical office, or other environment performing surgical services to patients
