About Womens and Childrens Services at BWMC:

-The Pascal Women’s Center at UM BWMC offers a wide variety of amenities for expecting mothers and their newborns, including spacious labor, delivery and recovery rooms with whirlpool tubs, private postpartum patient rooms, and dedicated operating rooms for Cesarean births.

-Our physicians and midwives offer routine and specialized gynecologic care at their office locations throughout Anne Arundel County. In addition, our gynecologists perform a wide range of procedures to treat disorders and diseases of the female reproductive system.

-Our Pascal Women’s Center is also home to a Neonatal Special Care Unit, caring for babies as young as 32 weeks, including those with respiratory and feeding difficulties or those that require antibiotic and IV therapy

  • The Director of Women’s & Children Services is a registered Nurse who is vested with 24 hour accountability for ensuring safe, effective and appropriate patient care throughout a clinical division.
  • The Director of Women’s & Children Services serves as a link between the Hospital’s Vision and the clinical division, and is a leader who creates a vision of how things can be better; models constructive behaviors, facilitates change, improvement, and problem solving; coaches employees in performance enhancement; and teaches skills and techniques need to achieving excellence.
  • The Director of Women’s & Children Services has direct access to support service resources essential to nursing and patient care, and maintains line authority over divisional nurse managers, Nursing supervisors, and Nursing management support staff, as assigned. May provide hospital administrative coverage in the absence of administration at a higher level.

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, Master’s degree preferred/actively working toward Master’s.

  • Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Nursing.

  • Five years of progressive experience in the field of hospital nursing and proven administrative ability.
