Position Description
Our nursing practice reflects the values of collaboration, communication, coordination, integration, and empowerment. Nurses have a 3:1 patient ratio. Post-operative and high risk pulmonary patients require close monitoring by nursing. Nurses are also responsible for managing cardiac drips, such as Amiodarone and Cardizem. Heparin and insulin drips are also included. High risk pulmonary patients may require high flow oxygen, such as opti-flow or bi-pap. Thoracic patients will have 1-3 chest tubes that need to be managed appropriately. Overall, our nurses are professionals committed to patients/families and all members of the Healthcare team.
Position Requirements
Required: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant course, and be listed as a CNA on the Ga. Registry, OR Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course, OR Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program and Certified as a Registered Medical Assistant. If eligible, must obtain certification within 30 days of hire, OR Enrolled in a School of Nursing and has completed one (1) full semester of clinical rotations, OR Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Medical Degree program. Current BLS card (CPR). Preferred: Enrolled in a School of Nursing, and has either completed the first (1st) year of an Associate Degree program, or the second (2nd) year of a Bachelor of Science program. One year patient care experience in an acute care setting

Service Area Overview
The Pulmonary and Therapeutic Endoscopy Lab offers diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of lung conditions. Northside offers a collaborative team of pulmonologists (physicians specializing in pulmonary conditions), pulmonary therapeutic specialists, endoscopy nurses and other related health care specialists, including anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, and radiologists, to develop an individualized plan of care for each patient.
