Registered Nurse (RN) - Bailey-Boushay House
Department: BBH Rcp Nursing
Hours: 3:00p - 11:30p
We are looking for Registered Nurses to join Bailey-Boushay House, a nationally recognized model for HIV care. Bailey-Boushay House opened in 1992 as America's first skilled nursing facility that was planned, funded, built and staffed to meet the needs of people living with AIDS. Virginia Mason — a nationally-recognized health care provider — has operated Bailey-Boushay House since the day they opened, ensuring those who come here receive the highest quality care available.
Registered Nurses work with both the outpatient program serving 320 individuals and in the 35 bed inpatient program.
Working in the inpatient program, the Registered Nurse specializes in intensive nursing care serving people with and without AIDS who require end of life care, including those with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease), Huntington's disease or any illness limiting a person’s life expectancy to less than three months.
The around-the-clock nursing care is not only focused on the needs of the patient, but on the important people in the patient's life. Partners, friends and family members are included in creating treatment plans as trusted allies in the patient's care. Social and cultural diversity is respected and honored by our staff members, who actively participate with families and loved ones to honor special wishes and needs during the patient's stay. Patients facing the end of life are supported medically, emotionally, and spiritually in an environment that emphasizes quality of life. Clinicians at Bailey-Boushay House treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
As a Registered Nurse, you are part of a multidisciplinary team that includes physical, occupational and recreational therapists, social workers, nursing assistants, dieticians and food service workers and housekeepers. As employees of Virginia Mason, our staff enjoy the emotional benefits of working at a nonprofit facility, but are paid as hospital employees - a higher level of compensation than the typical social service agency.
Join Bailey-Boushay House and continue your career as a Registered Nurse with an organization that provides the opportunity to grow with one of the premier healthcare organizations in the Pacific Northwest.
