SUMMARY OF JOB: The wound nurse functions as a coordinator, facilitator and provider of care to patients/residents with abdominal stomas, wounds, fistula, drains and pressure injuries. The role of the wound nurse encompasses educator, consultant, researcher, manager and patient/resident advocate. Responsibilities include performing all aspects of the nursing process as related to wounds scope of practice. The nurse acts as a patient/resident advocate in meeting the patient/resident needs. Responsibility for education of the patient/resident and/or family and other staff members is a major focus of the wound nurse.
RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS: · Graduate of accredited School of Nursing · Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License required · BSN required · Certification in Wound Care · Wound care experience required · BCLS certification required LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS: RN, BCLS
