Patient Care Assistant II - Ben Taub Hospital - Multiple Units
The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is accountable for supporting patient care activities, under the supervision of a registered nurse, on inpatient nursing units. The PCA II works closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to assure patient care needs are met. The PCA II performs patient care activities, as delegated, and adheres to patient safety measures. The PCA II is proficient in the performance of basic patient care activities, medical terminology, communication, organizational, and computer skills. The PCA II demonstrates and role models personal and professional effectiveness. Certified Nursing Assistant
SHIFT - NIGHTS
High School diploma or the equivalent plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area. Texas Nursing Assistant Certification required. Two (2) years related clinical experience required.
Related specialty experience preferred (experience in nursing program clinical rotations is applicable).
EKG and/or Phlebotomy competency validation required, as applicable to specialty area within 6 months of hire.
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact). PC, Typing, Medical Terms and Word Processing
