The surgical nursing team at St. Clare Hospital was recently named as the national winner of The Competence & Credentialing Institute’s (CCI) 2015 TrueNorth Award. This prestigious award recognizes organizations whose “true north” guides their nursing staff in becoming lifelong learners, modeling competent practices, and being continuous advocates for excellence by achieving an additional certification called CNOR. 100% of our perioperative, nurses, including the leadership team, are CNOR certified.
We perform over 4,000 cases per year at St. Clare. In addition to Orthopedics, we also offer Robotics, General, Urology, Podiatry and Gynecological surgical services. Our leadership team includes a Director, an OR Clinical Managers, a Perianesthesia Clinical Manager and an RN Educator. They truly enjoy mentoring and developing staff members.
Orientation for new OR and PACU RNs may include a formal six-month long OR residency, depending upon your prior experience. We typically offer two residencies per year.
Job Summary:
Our surgical services nurses provide pre-, intra- and post-operative nursing care to all patient populations undergoing surgical procedures. This work includes developing, implementing and assessing the patient plan of care in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams and the patient and family.

Job Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
Completion of an approved OR residency or minimum of one year previous OR experience.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Current Healthcare BLS Certification.
CNOR (Certified Nurse of the Operating Room) preferred.
