  We have an immediate opportunity for Ultrasound Technologists.

General Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist provides diagnostic ultrasound services to patients. Operates ultrasound equipment utilizing high frequency sound waves, prepares patient rooms, maintains equipment, and supplies. The Ultrasound Technologist is actively involved in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.

Patient Population: Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the patients served. The ages of the patients served are adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older).

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates proper performance of skills reflected and validated by the Ultrasound Tech competency checklist.
  • Evaluate technical quality of films; process film in accordance with standard procedures or techniques.
  • Provides timely and adequate documentation to ensure reimbursement for services provided.
  • Maintain records of ultrasound films taken, archiving and de-archiving data as required.
  • Calculate, compile and record data from numerical readings on patient’s charts and related documents.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills to ensure optimal patient care and promote a positive working environment.
  • Calibrate, clean and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Adheres to LifeCare policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.

    Requirements

    Supervision: Does not direct the activities of staff or a function.

    Experience: Two years of acute care experience, including one year ultrasound experience.

    Education: Two year allied health degree and successful completion of an accredited program in ultrasound technology.

    Licensure/Certification:

  • Registered by the ARDMS or ARRT in Ultrasound or meets State requirements to perform ultrasound.
