Supports the mission of the hospital to provide patients with the highest quality of healthcare in a caring atmosphere. Provision of nursing care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients based upon the nursing process and for which educational background has provided nursing skills. May assume responsibilities of charge nurse when the need arises. Directly supervises Attendants/Transporters, and Unit Secretaries. Promotes teamwork with physicians and other departments. Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patients clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Utilizing the standards set forth for Nursing Practice by the ANA and ASPAN the RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for PACU patients. It will include individualized, family centered, holistic, supportive, and safe care.
