RN Clinical Nurse III Bowyer Oncology Infusion Ctr
|ResponsibilitiesDirect patient care for the Hematology/Oncology patient population, undergoing treatment and infusions. Care also affored for those patients from other specialities undergoing treatment: rheumatology, immunology, dermatology, research and other transplant services. The nurse is responsibile for performing assessments of their patients and implementing the plan of care. Nurses work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate the goals of cre for a patient and to direct any care managment decisions. Other responsibilities include: patient education, instilling patient safety and applying critical thinking in managing the care of patients while incorporating best practices.
QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing, current active California RN licensure. Clinical skills applicable to nursing speciality, Oncology. Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral status assessments of patients using appropriate framework. Demonstrated skill in the delivery of patient care, utilizing team, and total, primary or fucntional systems. Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis. Writing skills to document accurately interventions and patient response. Ability to develop and implement and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family and staff. Knowledge of POMR charting. Skill in setting priorities, organizing interventions and direct staff. Ability to work effectively with stress and in crisis situtations. Ability to comply with departmental standards on punctuality, attendance, dress codes, varied work schedules and nursing practices. Knowledge and practice in the proper use of safe body mechanics.

2 years or greater of oncology experience, required
2 years of chemotherapy infusion experience, preferred
Active chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification, required
