Job Description

Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager - Patient Care manages clinical patient care activities, workflow and nursing resources.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Makes administrative decisions and provides appropriate notification to the administrator on call.

  • Responds to patient care complaints and ensures all complaints are handled in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or legal compliance requirements.

  • Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff. Serves as a resource to clinical staff in connection with dealing with complex or complicated patients.

  • Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care. Facilitates education and training of staff.

  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives as appropriate

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:


  • Required Credential(s):

    • BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 


  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Trauma Nurse credentialed from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA). 

Education:
  • Diploma 
    • Graduate of a Registered Nursing program required.

Work Experience:

  • Three years of experience as a Staff Registered Nurse is required.

  • One year of experience in a leadership role required.
