||We have an immediate opportunity for Nurse Managers.
General Summary: The Nurse Manager assists in the organization, development, management and administration of day to day nursing activities. The Nurse Manager remains active in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.
Patient Population: Has contact with patients in a clinical setting; understands and demonstrates appropriate behavior when interacting with patients in the adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older) populations.
In collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer, if applicable, reviews schedules to ensure adequate staffing on all shifts and units for the provision of safe, quality patient care. Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer, if applicable, to adjust staff as necessary by transferring individual staff members from one unit to another, arranging and approving necessary overtime and/or unscheduled shifts, calls in relief staff. Ensures that rounds are made on all patient care units to determine adequacy of planning and implementation of care. Assesses problem situations, and after thorough investigation, plans and implements corrective action. Assists the nursing units in direct patient care as needed to ensure quality patient care. Coordinates and facilitates all hospital activities in the event of a disaster, in accordance with the hospital’s Disaster Plan. The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the position requirements are demonstrated through the successful completion of competencies established for the position, to include population served, and other special needs of patients or customers, served by the department. Adheres to LifeCare policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations. Regular attendance and timeliness is required.This description is a general statement of required essential functions performed on a regular and continuous basis. Supervision: Supervises the function and the employees of the Nursing Department.
Experience: Two to five years of nursing experience in an acute clinical environment setting including previous supervisory experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, or combination of an Associate’s degree in an approved Registered Nurse program and meaningful and appropriate experience.
Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse license in the state where practicing is required. Current BLS certification is required and ACLS certification is required within six (6) months of hire. The Nurse Manager must maintain current licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications while employed with LifeCare Hospitals.
