SUMMARY:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’re the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. At Rochester General Hospital, we have three Surgical Specialty Units:

6800 - Our Orthopedic Surgery Unit is a 37 beds unit with a 1:5 Nurse to Patient ratio. Surgical patients include hip and joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, GYN, and some non-ortho and medical patients.

2800 – Our Post Surgical/General Surgery Unit is a 35 bed unit with a 1:5 Nurse/Patient ratio. Nurses will provide care of general surgery patients including colon rectal, ostomies, plastic and cosmetic center patients, breast procedures and reconstruction surgeries.

4500 – Our General Surgery Unit is a 26 bed unit with a 1:5 Nurse/Patient ratio.  Nurses will provide care for neurosurgical patients including craniotomies and brain biopsies, urology patients, and bariatric patients.

SCHEDULE:          Day/Evening/Night, Every Other Weekend/Holiday

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Patient Satisfaction. Solicit and respond to patient feedback to improve service and processes that will enhance the patient experience
  • Medication Administration & Reporting. Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal
  • Documentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record process
