SUMMARY:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’re the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. The Acute Stroke Unit (7800) at Rochester General Hospital is a 25 bed combined unit that specializes in the care of the acute stroke patient and other neurological disorders as well as focuses on intense, short-term physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy for adult patients. Patient population may include stroke patients, amputees, or de-conditioned patients.

LOCATION:          Rochester General Hospital

DEPARTMENT:   Acute Stroke Unit (7800)

SCHEDULE:          Day/Evening/Night, Every Other Weekend/Holiday

ATTRIBUTES
  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 1+ years of RN experience preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Patient Satisfaction. Solicit and respond to patient feedback to improve service and processes that will enhance the patient experience
  • Medication Administration & Reporting. Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal
  • Documentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record process
