Valley Regional is currently looking for a Patient Sitter-Sitter Dept.

Performs the monitoring functions of the virtual sitter department and at times may serve as a bedside patient sitter.  Fulfills departmental responsibilities that foster the goals of the hospitals mission and vision statement.  Provides a supportive environment that encourages teamwork and ensures effective communication.


Responsibilities:

1.     Communicates directly and effectively to unit staff in the event that a patient is at risk for a fall. 2.     Activates Code Star immediately in the event that a patient fall is imminent. 3.     Effectively escalates notification process to appropriate staff as necessary. 4.     Maintains accurate and up to date department logs/records. 5.     Telephone etiquette - communicates interdepartmental and clinical information in a clear and timely manner. 6.     Management, cleaning, inventory, and organization of departmental equipment and supplies. 7.     Participate in orientation of new staff. 8.     Effectively uses the computer system and programs in managing order entry and supplies. 9.     Effectively uses infection control precautions. 10.   Recognizes patients at risk for falls and takes appropriate precautions. 11.   Recognizes patient discomfort and responds/reports promptly to licensed nurse.

             Other duties as specified by department supervisor.
