  We have an immediate opportunity for an HR Generalist/Benefits Coordinator - Part-Time - 30 hours/week.

General Summary: The HR Generalist/Benefits Coordinator performs a wide variety of responsible, complex and confidential support services for the members of the human resources team at LifeCare Management Services and at LifeCare Hospitals. The HR Generalist/Benefits Coordinator is actively involved in department activities and LifeCare activities to ensure hospital employees are able to provide individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospitals as well as employees within the LifeCare system.

Patient Population: Does not have contact with patients.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively participates in employee relations activities. Provides timely answers to and follow up to employees seeking assistance and escalates when necessary.
  • Assists with the recruiting and on-boarding processes, including the facilitation of new employee orientation
  • Responds to questions and concerns from hospital Human Resource departments.
  • Researches benefits issues and offers solutions.
  • Assists with approving and enrolling or terminating employees in benefits when there is a family status change. Validates student status as needed.
  • Inputs 401(k) enrollments, updates and address changes.Conducts audits of terminated employees for the 401(k) program.
  • Ensures benefit plans are compliant with legal and regulatory entities and that benefit processes and plans are appropriately documented.Legal and regulatory entities include the Medicare, IRS, DOL and Affordable Care Act requirements.Assists in preparation of government filings and required audits to benefits plans.
  • Provides 401(k) administrative support by performing weekly responsibilities including importing/exporting of feedback files and ensuring any errors or issues with the files are immediately resolved. Reconciles the plan each pay period to ensure contributions are appropriately withheld and remitted to the service provider.
  • Files all incoming employee documentation in employee personnel files and ensures files are compliant and up to date.

    Supervision: Does not direct the activities of staff or a function.

    Experience: Minimum of two years as an HR Generalist. Hospital and/or home health experience preferred.

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or combination of an associate’s or other two-year degree and meaningful and appropriate experience.
