Job  : Allied Health/Clinical Jobs  Job Type  : Standard Schedule  : Part-time

*Hours Per Week : 24

*Start Time : 7:00 PM

*End Time : 7:00 AM

Shift  : Night Shift

Weekend Commitment : Every Third Weekend

Primary Location  : Centegra Hospital McHenry

 : 

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

 

Administrative responsibility for clinical operations for a designated facility on off shifts, weekends and holidays; Communicates issues, concerns, and events as appropriate to Nurse Managers and/or Director of Patient Care Services; facilitates various nursing initiatives as assigned by the Director of Patient Care Services. Reports to the Director of Patient Care Services.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Staffing:

Advises Charge Nurse /Manager of staffing deficits /opportunities

Consults with Manager(s) regarding housewide staffing adjustments needed

Productivity:

Provides feedback to Nurse Managers of observed opportunities on off shifts, weekends, and holidays

Budget:

Provides feedback to Nurse Manager on supply deficits on off shifts, weekends, and holidays

Care Coordination:

Supports the Clinical Care Leader in the provision of resources and patient flow for a designated unit

Quality / Risk:  (Midas, Core Measures, Inf. Prev.)

Conducts quality audits as assigned by the Director

Communicates issues and concerns needing resolve at a higher level (chain of command)

Responsible for assuring Midas reporting on the off shifts, weekends and holidays

Conducts regulatory compliance rounding and education

Competency:

Assists Nurse Managers and Nurse Educators with education dissemination and associate record compliance as needed

Associate Opinion:

Supports Nursing Leadership in disseminating AOS Action Plan communication on the off  shifts, weekends, and holidays; promotes participation in AOS

 

Patient Satisfaction: (Hourly Round., Bedside Report, Discharge Phone Calls)

Responsible for assuring effective hourly rounding and bedside report on the off shifts , weekends and holidays

Reports concerns to Nurse Manager(s) / Director as needed

Leader Rounding:

An organizational leader “must have”

Hiring/Corrective Actions/Termination:

Provides feedback to Nurse Manager /Charge Nurse regarding performance or conduct issues with Associates

Throughput / Patient Flow:

Ensures compliance with process changes supporting efficient patient flow

Reward & Recognition:

Identifies patient care stories for Magnet designation

Identifies associates for reward and recognition

Magnet / Shared Governance:

Reviews “Tidbits “with staff when touring units

Documents Tidbit reviews on PFS shift report

Associate Performance Review:

Provides feedback to Nurse Manager regarding Charge Nurse / CCL performance and development

Payroll:

Identifies variant attendance and overtime trends to Clinical Nurse Manager

Regulatory Compliance:

Conduct regulatory surveying weekly; reports findings to Nurse Manager and Director

Mentoring & Succession Planning:

Provides feedback to Nurse Manager regarding potential successor(s)

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Illinois Registered Nurse – Required

BS in Nursing - Required

ACLS – Required

CPR – Required

Five years experience in acute patient care. – Required

Physical ability to perform functional requirements

OTHER

 Respectful professional communication with all staff levels

 Advocate for patient quality of care
