Quality Improvement/Research Coordinator RN
Under the direction of the Director for the Division of Critical Care in the Department of Surgery, the Surgical Quality Improvement/Research Coordinator will implement clinical quality and performance improvement tasks. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, management, coordination and implementation of all clinical quality improvement initiatives for Surgical Critical Care, and to a lesser degree, strategic level involvement in Quality endeavors. This role will also function as a project manager, facilitator, educator, consultant, and analyst, particularly to support research endeavors of the faculty of the Section of Surgical Critical Care.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree required with minimum of three years of acute care and/or quality and /or
translational research experience in a hospital setting
RN License, BSN Degree
Clinical education and/or experience
Experience with performance improvement, project management and Lean Six Sigma
Experience in creating and managing Gantt charts, flow charts, other project management tools
Experience with clinical informatics
Ability to develop, implement and monitor systems that will support the goals and objectives of the Department.
Must be knowledgeable and up-to-date with trends in the use of clinical systems.
Demonstrated skill in using software including word processing, spreadsheets and data base management programs.
Demonstrated skill in designing and implementing databases for secondary use of clinical, operations and administrative
Knowledge of principles of critical care
Ability to follow research protocols and log variances in protocols.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with members of the health care team.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
