Title: Registered Nurse – Med Surg – Ortho/Spine
Shift: Full-Time (36 hrs), Night Shift, Self-Scheduling
Department: Orthopedic Medical Unit

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin is a Level 4 Trauma Center. ASMCA has also been awarded the Gold Plus Level Performance Award from the American Heart Association. In addition, this unit has earned 3 Joint Commission Disease Specific Certifications including Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Simple Spine Surgery, making Seton Medical Center Austin the only hospital in Central Texas with all 3 certifications. They are currently in the midst of attaining a 4th certification: Shoulder Surgery.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
