Job Description

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Cath Lab provides direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, prepares and positions patients for procedures. Performs conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.

  • Prepares, implements and documents plan of care. Communicates patient's condition to physician before, during and after procedures.

  • Performs and/or facilitates diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.

  • Performs set up and provides equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.

  • Heart & Vascular - Participates as a technical support team member during procedures.

  • Heart & Vascular - Provides guidance and teaching for patients and significant others. Maintains interdepartmental communication and participates in the performance improvement and enhancement process.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date, or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure required.

    • One or more of the following:

      • Certified Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. ACLS replaces the BLS.

      • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Education:
  • Diploma 
    • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required ASN or BSN preferred

Work Experience:
  • 1+ years critical care experience required.
